OTHER CEREALS & GRAINS

Cereals and grains play a vital role in the global food supply, providing 51% of calories and 47% of protein in the average diet, according to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). The total annual cereal production worldwide is around 2,500 million tons, with maize (corn), sesame, wheat, and rice accounting for more than three-fourths of all grain production.

Agrocroft is dedicated to supplying high-quality cereals and grains to its customers and is recognized as one of the largest cereals exporters in Pakistan. They have a strong presence in cereal exports to various countries.

OATS

Oats are one of the major grain crops grown in Pakistan. Agrocroft’s oats are naturally rich in beta-glucan, a soluble fiber found in the bran and endosperm layers of oat grains. Beta-glucan has been shown to offer various health benefits, including improved blood glucose control, enhanced insulin responses, and lowered cholesterol levels.

Recent research indicates that oats also contain avenanthramides, a unique phytochemical that helps protect blood vessels from the damaging effects of LDL-cholesterol. Oats are an essential part of Agrocroft cereal exports.

BARLEY

Barley is a cereal grain originally native to countries like Pakistan, India, and Sri Lanka. While barley was a staple crop for centuries, the shift to wheat and rye occurred when bread became popular in the 19th century, primarily due to its lower gluten content. In modern times, barley is seeing increased use in healthy and organic food products, particularly those related to cardiovascular health.

A significant portion of the world’s barley production goes into beer-making. Barley remains a staple food in less developed countries, especially in North Africa and areas where wheat does not grow, such as Tibet. Agrocroft is one of the leading exporters of barley in the form of cereals.

RYE

Rye, a grain that entered the agricultural scene later than wheat, barley, and oats, found its place of prominence in the annals of history, particularly in ancient civilizations like Egypt and Greece. Its unique attributes make it an essential crop for bread production in regions characterized by colder and harsher climates, such as Northern Europe and Russia. Rye, while closely related to wheat, contains less gluten in its flour, resulting in the creation of denser rye bread. The conventional preparation of rye bread often involves the sourdough technique, lending it a distinctive and beloved flavor that has stood the test of time.

LENTILS

Agrocroft specializes in various types of lentils, known as “Daal” in Pakistan. These lentils are organically grown on the company’s 400-acre farms. They are naturally rich in beta-glucan, a soluble fiber known for its positive effects on blood glucose control, insulin responses, and cholesterol levels. Lentils are not typically exported as widely as other grains in developing countries, making Agrocroft’s focus on lentil exports unique.

As one of the largest grain exporters, Agrocroft is known for its transparent working methods, customer service, and commitment to providing high-quality grains and cereals to its customers.
